Jordan Farmar will likely be headed to the Indiana Pacers where he will be the top choice for the starting job, a source with knowledge of the situation told NBA News and Rumors.
Farmar was unhappy with his role with the Lakers because he was unable to win the starting job from veteran Derek Fisher. Farmar was also a poor fit with the triangle offense as he preferred more control over the ball than the triangle point guard role offered him.
The source believes Farmar will have other suitors, naming the New York Knicks as a team that may need a point guard should they fail to land Tony Parker, but is confident that the Pacers will put together an offer around $4 million a year for two years.
The Pacers are in need of a starting point guard after failing to find one with the 10th overall pick in the draft and Farmar is looking for a starting job to see “what kind of player (he) can be in this league,” which makes the deal beneficial for both sides.
